New works by Jolene Crommelynck
The past months have been a period of renewal — a vibrant dialogue between outer impressions and inner reflection. After a summer filled with color, warmth, and light in Crete, Jolene Crommelynck translated those sensory experiences onto canvas. The golden tones of the island sun, the rhythm of its landscapes, and the quiet poetry of daily life became the foundation for a new body of work: spontaneous, layered, and full of luminous optimism.
Back in her studio, this energy intertwined with a deeper phase of introspection. Crommelynck explored new textures and forms, experimenting with the tension between control and freedom, structure and emotion.
Her visits to inspiring spaces such as S.M.A.K., Het Depot in Rotterdam, and the Peire Muzee further enriched her practice — offering new perspectives on material, depth, and dialogue within contemporary art.
Each painting from this series reflects a balance between joy and contemplation. They capture fleeting encounters and colorful interactions, but also the quiet patience that lies beneath. These are works born from a journey — outward to the world’s brightness, and inward to the soul’s reflection.
