An artistic escape to Paris

Paris has a way of welcoming you as if art itself breathes through its streets. This past weekend, the city became the backdrop for a deeply inspiring getaway — a birthday celebration for my best friend Fran, and an immersion into everything that makes Paris endlessly magnetic.
From the very first moments, we soaked up the unmistakable Parisian atmosphere. Every corner seemed to offer something visually arresting: façades layered with history, fleeting reflections in shop windows, spontaneous street scenes that felt like living paintings. Art was not confined to museums — it lived everywhere.
A visit to the Fondation Cartier offered a moment of quiet contemplation, where contemporary creation and architecture exist in perfect dialogue. The space itself invites reflection, reminding you how powerful art can be when it is allowed room to breathe.
Equally unforgettable was our time at the Musée de l'Orangerie, standing before the iconic water lilies of Claude Monet. Immersed in those sweeping panels, I found myself captivated by the softness and strength of his palette — luminous pastels that feel both gentle and profound. The lilies seemed to float endlessly, offering calm, movement, and emotion all at once. A true masterclass in colour and atmosphere.
Outside, the city continued to inspire. The Seine reflected a warm blue hue, almost painterly in its stillness, as if the water itself had been mixed on an artist’s palette. That colour lingered with me — subtle, layered, unforgettable.
And then, Paris through the senses: oysters enjoyed casually on street corners, glasses always filled, laughter flowing freely — everything soaked in champagne and joy. It was indulgent, effortless, and beautifully human.
This journey was more than a celebration; it was a reminder of why travel fuels creation. Paris reaffirmed that inspiration often comes from simply observing — colours, textures, tastes, moments — and allowing them to settle quietly, ready to resurface in new work.
Some cities you visit. Paris, you absorb.
