Broken, torn, healed.
In Déchirées – French for “torn” or “ripped apart” – the canvas becomes a landscape of inner contrasts. The work breathes both strength and vulnerability: rich brushstrokes in vivid colours cut through an underlayer of gold, as if emotions carve their way through structure and silence.
The composition is layered and rhythmic, yet never fully orderly. Each field of colour seems to search for connection – and at times, for separation. Like emotions that clash, yet ultimately form a new whole.
Déchirées is a visual meditation on fragmentation, repair, and the beauty of what does not need to be perfect.
